My name is Michelle Dalley and I am the Chef and Owner of Mudder Trucker's and here's a little bit more about me!
Born in Corner Brook Newfoundland, I moved to Ontario when I started grade three, and I've been back and forth every couple of years since. I'll be moving back permanently in spring of 2026!
Anyways, you wouldn't know it, but once upon a time I was the pickiest eater, I'd just look at something and say "I'm not trying that!" In 2010 I had a life scare, scary enough that I changed my diet and lifestyle. Although I was a picky eater before 2010, I still cooked along side my parents Henry and Michelle. My first job was McDonald's and that lasted nine years! I ended up going to college when I was 19 for Journalism, funny because you'd probably never guess that I went to college for that looking at me now. I was amazing at writing, it was just a natural gift. But after struggling to find work in the writing world, while still working at McDonald's and going through my health scare, I knew things had to change.
Around the same time after my surgery, I got a little inspiration from my father, Henry. I was 23 and I remember clear as day sitting at the dining room table with him and we were talking about how much we used to love camping at the trailer and sneaking off to Alliston every Saturday with mom to get a plate of homemade fries and gravy. I think we enjoyed the fries above everything else when we got away for the weekend from the city. With that said, he said to me "what if one day we opened something like that together?" Something inside me just lit up and got me thinking, the only problem was Ontario was getting too expensive to open a business and shortly after our conversation my father became ill. He may not physically be here to live the dream, but he is a part of mine and it will become real on the East Coast (in Central Newfoundland), where we all wanted to move to down the road anyways, and my mom is already there! I am working hard to make everything a reality!
So here I am, over 22 years later still in the culinary industry and gaining so much experience in different restaurants and culinary settings and eating just about everything and making delicious meals and desserts from scratch.
I think of myself as a creative person, and since I like to draw, decorate and take photographs etc, that all works out and ties into my business because I get to have fun, make pretty dishes and desserts and post pictures of them all! I even drew my own logo!
For me, there is nothing more satisfying than having someone try and enjoy my creations.
I am also very avid and into the outdoors. If it involves fishing, camping or riding big boy toys... count me in! Hoping to get into hunting soon and add that to my menu and experience!
